Looking for a Teacher?
I love teaching mindfulness and related practices! My approach is grounded in the Insight tradition of Theravada Buddhism, forty years of teaching adult learners, and more than twenty years of daily meditation practice.
In my teaching, I aspire to create learning communities that are kind, respectful, trusting and engaging. Communities in which the participants can:
I see myself as “a guide on the side” rather than “a sage on the stage”. This is because the older I get, the less certain I become. Increasingly, life appears as mystery, comprised of infinitely complex and ever-changing causes and conditions. However, I do know that the teachings of the Buddha, as described in the Pali canon and practiced in the Insight tradition, have transformed my life for the better. Over the years, these teachings have sustained me, nourished me, and inspired me on the path more than I can say. For me, the gifts of the Buddha’s teachings are priceless and I am grateful beyond words.
My passion is now to repay this debt of gratitude by sharing the teachings with others. This is why I teach. I know that the Buddha’s path works and I want to support others in following it. It is a path that leads to understanding and the alleviation of suffering. It is a path that leads to uncovering deep contentment and peace.
I am available to teach groups of 5 – 500 people on topics related to mindfulness, the spiritual dimensions of the climate crisis, and how to have hope in these troubled times.

In my teaching, I aspire to create learning communities that are kind, respectful, trusting and engaging. Communities in which the participants can:
- Learn, practice, and grow together on the spiritual path in mutually supportive ways;
- Share their vulnerabilities and their strengths with each other in relative safety;
- Listen to each other deeply and compassionately, holding each person as a spiritual being;
- Appreciate differences, while honoring our common humanity.
