~ Donations & Dana ~
“Dana brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience
joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something.
And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given.”
- Buddha
Dana is the Sanskrit word for generosity and in Buddhism, it is regarded as both a spiritual practice
and as a virtue because it confers so many benefits on the donor. Not only does it lead to a sense of
happiness when we have an intention to be generous, when we are generous and afterwards,
it also reduces desire, greediness and anger.
